Asrock ALTRAD8UD-1L2T - No USB and faulty RAM controller

Hello, I recently purchased the MoBo from a chinese reseller (Alibaba, I am in Spain is difficult to get any other stuff as fast) - at my first boot with 256GB of RDIMM memory was completely recognized by the system. The USB controller was absent in the bios and in Ubuntu LTE 26.04 too. I have the Altra Ampere with 80 Cores - The system has been decently stable beyond what I found out.

I switched back and forth bios versions, nothing. Then I decided to inspect the MoBo to understand where is the USB chip and if there are any faults. Besides not being able to recognize where is the chip package - I found out a damage that is possibly impacting the ram - cause it can’t train anymore 256GB (only 192).

A few questions - would you wait for the vendor to replace/dispute etc?
Find a local shop to repair, the machine boots, the soldering doesn’t seem extremely hard - eventually also doubledown on the USB if they can just plug another chip and understand.

Get refundend, return it get another one?

I am a little upset because it took me almost 3 months to complete the assembly…
I am almost 100% sure the MoBo came with some defects, because I can’t find any trace of those components in the case, because the USB never worked and because on first boot I had put only 64GB (2x32GB banks) A1 and E1 and one was not seen. Then when I put 256 it worked. So those broken capacitors may make the thing unstable how how to recognize the memory. I must say on a low level all the banks are read and recognized but then there’s a training error and they do not make it to the OS. During some boots they do.

Thanks a lot.
