So, after you setup PCI support to 4th, it cannot enter bios? how about reset to default ?
by the way, default should be use the PCIe gen4, no need to modify it.
have you tried to unplug the GPU card ? and use the default VGA port to boot ?
if ssh is not possible, can you access serial console ?
What I meant was, I got passed the bios stage and stalled on EFI while booting Ubuntu.
However, this is now resolved. I managed to get SSH access and set up the KVM control through the BMC ethernet port. I installed Nvidia drivers, set that display to default and installed a GUI - Gnome.
I had some issues to take care of from previous integrations like syslog-ng and loki which I stopped using a long time ago. Also learned to set up new SSD with LVM - no need to reinstall Ubuntu. Very smooth experience expanding disk space!!
