The firmware on the Adlink platform is likely tianocore EDK2, with the likely running openbmc.
That’s exactly the method I tested, but unfortunately at least on firmware 2.04.100.08
(which is one version newer than the latest one listed in the docs, trying to boot using that method results in an ACPI_BIOS_ERROR
.
I can’t find any ACPI settings in the BIOS on my system.
I’ve asked our ADLINK friends to chime in. They have Ampere Altra Dev Platform workstations with Windows 11 Client running the HLK tests. Windows Hardware Lab Kit | Microsoft Learn
No reason to hold off, I think. All of the frequently updated Linux distros should work out of the box - specifically, Ubuntu 2[02].04, Fedora 35/36/37/…, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 or 9 (and all the rebuilds), etc. Basically, any distro more recent than say 2020 should just work.
Looks like ADLINK has pushed an ACPI fix for the Windows BSOD issue @geerlingguy was running into. Looking forward to trying this out once the binaries are available!
