How 8x8 got 20-30% more performance, and paid 20-30% less for it

Hi all,

My interview with Emil Ivov, product owner for video services at 8x8 and creator of the Jitsi project, just dropped on YouTube! I talked to Emil about how they came to adopt Ampere A1 instances on OCI for their video services, and how that worked out for them. Spoiler alert: they reduced their cloud bill for those services, getting 20-30% more performance per instance, and paying 20-30% less for each instance.

If you’re unfamiliar with the project, I recommend having a look! Jitsi is an open source video conferencing platform, founded over 20 years ago by Emil, written mostly in Java.

This is awesome, just finished watching. In the NixOS community, we heavily use Jitsi so hearing about two cool things (Ampere and Jitsi) in one video is great. I hope more companies and projects switch to Arm.
