Ampere-powered Biodiversity Server

At the end of the PyTorch Conference, I met Ed who was waiting on a friend to leave (him and the friend were taking turns talking and then waiting), luckily for me it was Ed’s turn to be waiting and I got to talk to him about BearID in Ecuador. Yes, you guess correctly, it is about how they ran BearID, a project that uses AI/ML to identify bears in the wild and it runs on Ampere Servers. So how cool is that. We will try to get him on a Developer Impact show in the near future and keep you all up to date. There is also a Citizen Science component to the BearID application. Please check it out.

Along the same lines, I met Mike Hinsley last month who uses an Ampere server plus Raspberry Pis to monitor his Apiaries and Aquaponics….
