Event Recommendations

The Field Engineering, Dev Relations and Product Marketing folks are just putting together the events we’re going to be showing at, attending or speaking at this year. Which events do you think we should be at? We’ve got to consider:

  • Attendees likely to benefit from us being there either technically, or commercially.
  • An event that helps Ampere contribute in some way to the Arm ecosystem.
  • One where many potential Ampere partners are present.
    We appreciate any suggestions.

I was trying not to put out my opinion, but maybe I can give some examples.
For big events in Europe, I like FOSDEM but it is so chaotic, it is tough to survive. But groups use it to have their own conferences around it.

I did like Pytorch’s conference, the talks were technical although some of the panel’s on the keynotes were not good. But the conference itself was really good.

All things Open and Scale are really good on the community part. You can see how these things have grown so much, from a community meet up to now rather large events. Yet because of those humble beginnings, they are still technical, friendly, and have a good since of community.

I have wondered about We are Developers, it seems really good.

What about others? @poddingue @TheComputerGuy @Erik I know have been to a number of events.

We have NixCon in Europe, currently no location is selected for 2026 but it’ll likely be some time in September.

What did you make of ConfigMgmtCamp last year, Pete? Are you thinking of geographical distribution of events too (EU vs NA vs Rest of the World)?

CfgMgmntCamp was more focussed on the ecosystem part. Not so good for immediate commercial conversations but definitely in our wheelhouse of where the SoCs should be best used.
