Arm IT's blog post about Drinking their own Champagne

Arm’s IT posted a blog on their community site. Arm’s IT group talking about how they get to “Drink their own Champagne”. They are replacing their old x86 servers with Arm based ones. Which is allowing them to save energy, put more servers in the data center (each new Arm server draws less power, so more servers can go in a rack) and are cheaper.

The blog post draws attention to the max energy pull from their x86’s servers, which is high but the ave draw running the same tests is almost 3x! Check it out.

Would be interested in the tooling they are using to pull out this energy information - that could be useful for the CNCF “Kepler” project which is tracking Kubernetes energy usage.
